FASTFOOD CHAMPION 2023 competition terms & conditions
1. Organisers
Organiser of the competition is Easyfairs Nordic AB
Partners of the competition are Metos Oy, Valio Aimo, Danish Crown Foods A/S, Unilever Finland Oy, Global Magentur and Lantmännen Unibake.
2. Participation
Anyone over 18 of age, who prepare food as a profession, students of the field, chefs and master chefs can participate in the competition. The qualifying jury selects the contestants for the semi-finals based on anonymously submitted recipes and photos. 12 contestants will be selected to the first semi-finals. Eight contestants will make it to the second semi-finals. Four contestants will make it to the finals.
3. Timing
You can apply to the competition between 27th December 2022 and 23rd February 2023. The application period ends on February 23th, 2023 midnight. Entries received after the application deadline will not be accepted. The participant is responsible submitting the application e-mail during the participation period.
4. Qualifying, semi-finals and final
Qualifying:
You can register for the competition by sending your own recipe and picture of a fast food dish of your choice. The recipe and photo of the qualifying competition must be submitted to ffcr@easyfairs.com by midnight on February 23rd, 2023 at latest. The qualifying jury chooses the contestants for the semi-finals anonymously based on recipes and photos. Competitors will be informed personally of their entry into the competition by March 2nd, 2023, after which all the competitors will be announced.
Quarter-final:
In the first semi-final, each competitor prepares a portion of own choice: a free-choice dish, a hamburger or a hotdog with their own recipe from ingredients of competition partners.
Semi-final:
In the second semi-final, each contestant prepares a portion of own choice: a free-choice dish, a hamburger or a hotdog with their own recipe from ingredients of competition partners. The portion must be different than in the first semi-final.
Final:
In the final, the contestants prepare a portion of own choice: a free-choice dish, a hamburger or a hotdog with their own recipe from ingredients of competition partners. The portion must be different than in the first semi-final or the second semi-final.
Competitors who make it to the final, prepare one hotdog, one hamburger and one free-choice dish at different stages of the competition.
At least one portion of the competition must be a vegetarian portion.
5. Ingredients used in the competition
All ingredients used in the competition have to be from the competition partners’ selections. More specifically all dairy products used in the competition must be from Valio’s selection.
6. Jury
Competition jury consists of industry professionals and representatives of competition partners. The head judge Pekka Terävä participates in scoring and, in a case of a tie, makes a decision if the jury cannot reach an agreement.
